Mike Price and Callum Macleod join Optimum Motorsport for 2025 British GT campaign
Optimum Motorsport are delighted to confirm a return to the British GT grid for a third consecutive full season, and to welcome Mike Price and Callum Macleod in the #3 McLaren GT3 EVO.
The duo make the switch to McLaren machinery after spending the previous two years racing on home soil in a Mercedes-AMG GT3. Price and Macleod now embark on their third Pro-Am British GT season together, looking to develop on last year’s tenth place finish in the series’ overall GT3 championship standings.
“This is such a fantastic opportunity to try and progress further in British GT after the progress we made in the Mercedes-AMG GT3 over the past two years,” said Price.
“The aim is to better last year’s 10th place finish in the championship, and to push for our first elusive podium in the series, which will be no mean feat in what is the most competitive GT3 championship both in the UK and across Europe.”
The 2025 British GT season marks ten years since Macleod’s debut in the series, appearing at Silverstone, the domestic championship’s blue-riband event in the Audi R8. With multiple wins and podiums to his name, both in Britain and overseas including a class win on debut at the 24 Hours of Spa, Callum brings a wealth of experience as the pair embark on a new venture.
“Optimum are a team I know very well from my mentoring role with Jack Brown in the GT4. I’ve watched them operate consistently at the highest level with a real hunger to win. When Mike hinted that he was interested in exploring options outside of his Mercedes, there was only one place I wanted to be and fortunately the stars have aligned,” said Macleod.
“Mike had some standout performances last season and I’m confident that we have the equipment to compete at the sharp end on a regular basis. It’s going to be a steep learning curve with the new surroundings, but seeing how much Mike has developed over the last couple of seasons gives me a real sense of optimism heading into this year.”
“The continued support of Forelle Estates makes this all possible and we’ll do everything we can to deliver the results our whole team deserve.”
British GT’s 33rd season officially gets underway on March 21 with the series’ Media Day at Silverstone. The action will make a return to the Home of British Motorsport for the Silverstone 500 on April 26/27, that’s not before the season-opener at Donington Park earlier in the month on April 5/6.
The full seven-round, nine-race series will be shown live on GT World’s YouTube, with select events streamed on Sky Sports F1.
