Team Principal Shaun Goff took over Optimum Motorsport in 2007, nurturing talents across multiple Ginetta programmes before moving to British GT and achieving outright championship success in 2018 and 2019.
2022 has proven to be one of the teams' most successful campaigns, claiming the Asian Le Mans GT title back in February, IMSA's Michelin Endurance GTD Cup in September and the inaugural Gold Cup GT World Challenge Europe Endurance crown in October.

2021 sees Optimum Motorsport compete in multiple championships with the McLaren 720S GT3, which is entering its third season of competition.
As a McLaren Customer team, the team is looking to carry the momentum from success in GT Open in 2020 into the new season.
The team has worked with McLaren in the past in the GT4 category, and for 2021 is looking at its options in both the UK and Europe.
